Sunset at Manhattan Beach

At Toyota of Santa Monica, we’re committed to creating a culture of sustainability. That means not just helping our community by supporting local environmental causes, such as Heal the Bay or Global Green, or the Grades of Green educational program; it also means supporting other local businesses who share an environmental commitment as well. To that end, we’ve chosen 5 of our favorite eateries who not only deliver tasty eats comparable to those you would find in busy Malibu or Venice, but do it consciously with an admirable focus on their carbon footprint.

Manhattan Beach Post

This delightful farm-to-table restaurant is a local favorite, featuring signature dishes like mushroom mac and cheese, seared diver scallops, and fluffy bacon-Cheddar biscuits that pair well with excellent conversation in the open, friendly dining hall.

Zinc

An all-day hotel restaurant that features local California wines and fresh fruits and vegetables harvested from local farms, Zinc is a crowd favorite and then some. Guests come early for the craft beverages and Asian-inspired dishes and stay for the live weekend DJ and outdoor fire pits.

Sun Life Organics

A quick trip south of Culver City will land you at Sun Life Organics, a new joint specializing in delicious smoothies and hearty bowls that will fuel you up without weighing you down. Visitors can drop in after a day at the pier or even order their food to-go or for delivery thanks to the new ChowNow app.

Rice

A Vegan-friendly Japanese inspired menu has diners rushing in from Playa Vista to take advantage of the fresh fare at Rice. Choose from starchy ramen dishes spiced to perfection, or go gluten-free with one of the many rice dishes prepared to perfection by chef Hiroyuki Igarashi.

Manhattan Beach Creamery

When you’ve had your fill of entrée’s head on over for delightful desserts at the Manhattan Beach Creamery. This local favorite specializes in hand-made, small-batch flavors such as red velvet, sticky bun crunch, and of course, maple bacon crunch.
