Toyota Mirai Gas Mileage

The 2019 Toyota Mirai achieves an EPA-estimated 67 mpge city and 67 mpge highway*. This is thanks to its futuristic engineering innovations. The 2019 Mirai comes equipped with the Toyota Fuel Cell Stack that delivers 153 hp and 3.1 kW/L of power. Refueling takes about five minutes. The Permanent Magnet AC synchronous electric motor delivers 153 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. The Sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), 34 cell modules battery produces 244.8 V of power and can expect to get about 312 miles of cruising range.

How the Mirai Achieves its MPG Ratings

Venice drivers looking for an innovative, head-turning vehicle, won’t do better than the Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), which was designed to “shape the next generation of mobility” — this carbon-neutral vehicle’s only emission is water. Toyota engineers worked vigorously to keep pushing boundaries with the hydrogen technology, where they created a new way to weave carbon fiber that’s helping create SAE standards being used across hydrogen fueling stations.

How Does It Work?

The Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) is forming the next generation of mobility. And it’s all there in the name– Mirai means “future,” and it has advanced innovations that go beyond any other hydrogen-powered fuel cell system. But how does it work? The Power Control Unit (PCU) will decide when to use the stored energy from the battery and when to get energy from the fuel cell system. Toyota Santa Monica has additional information on this exciting, cutting-edge technology.
